And was mesmerized. I am not some smarty-artsy person.. But I do know what I like, and what I think "art" is.. And this is it. To me, this painting had so much power, and pain.. it literally moved me.
While in Philly I became friends with a gentleman who happened to be a great cook!! Him and I both attended Drexel.. Me for my Architecture and him for Business. He would often cook me dinner. One night he made me a creamy mushroom dish. Later, after moving back to Jersey, I had to call him to get the recipe because it is good!! It's been a few years since I talked to him.. But he is doing very well for himself in the Culinary world. He was on Food Network's Chopped and last I heard, is a chef at a restaurant in Philly. I took a peak at the menu, and guess what is on it? Yep, the mushroom dish!
Well..I have since lost the recipe that he had given me, but I do remember it pretty well off the top of my head. And that is what I am going to share with you today!!
Creamy Mushrooms
Printer Friendly Version
Ingredients:
Olive oil
1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
1 Container Mushrooms (sliced)(I use a mix of cremini, Portobello, Porcini, and Shiitake)
1/2 C Heavy cream (just a little bit)
5.2 oz Borsin Cheese
Sliced baguette
Directions:
Saute your mushrooms and garlic in the olive oil.
Add the cream and borsin cheese. Cook on medium heat, stirring off and on until the sauce thickens up. Serve over sliced baguettes.
Now, I won't promise you that this is as good as what you can get at the restaurant, But it is pretty darn tasty!! I hope you enjoy it!!
Happy Eating!!
~
