* Do it yourself Taco Seasoning...

As you all know, I like to try and make things from scratch, hence the butter and marshmallow peeps...Taco seasoning is used fairly often in my home... Burritos, taco's, nachos.... All yummy stuff!! But I still use the store bought packs of taco seasoning! I figures, since I was planning on making my own taco pizza, why not make my own seasoning to go with it... right?!

I searched the Internet and found multiple recipes. All of which were pretty similar, minus or plus an 1/8 of an ingredient here and there...So.. for your taco eating enjoyment... here is my version of taco seasoning (keep in mind, I like things a little bit spicy.. This isn't too spicy, but you get a tiny bit of bite with it)

Taco Seasoning
Printer Friendly Version
4 Tbsp Chili Powder
1 Tbsp Paprika
3 Tbsp Cumin
2 Tbsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper

Use it just like you would the store bought packages!! Cook your beef, add 3/4 cup of water and 3 1/2 Tbsp of the Taco Seasoning, simmer! That's it!!

It tastes like the store bought seasonings, only better.. because now you can control what goes in to it, as I said.. I like things a little spicy.. and I was able to make it how I wanted to!!

What do you put in your meat when you are making tacos??

Happy Eating!!

  1. YUM! Funny I just had tacos, wish I had seen this first:)

  2. I love that you do so much from scratch. Not much better than that!

  3. Nice mix. If you're looking for a smokey version, try this one:

  4. so much cheaper to make yourself than buy

  5. I love the fact that I can use this recipe and make my own taco seasoning without having to spend money or go to the store since I have all of these things in my pantry anyways. I just never thought about it before. Who dosen't love tacos :0)
